We sang happy birthday in discord as she looked around at the familiar faces.  Unsure what to do next, both of her big sisters leaned forward to help blow out the flickering flame on her lowly gold candle.  Staring wide-eyed at the perfectly sculpted cupcake set in front of her, one of her big sisters scooped a dollop of frosting on her finger and placed it in her baby sisters mouth.  Fast forward to the end of the meal, Charlie’s plate is full of only cake remnants.  Hands and face covered in fluffy, sweet, buttercream frosting.  A grin across her face.  The perfect ending to a one-derful year!

Birthdays may look a little different this year but it won’t stop them from being special!  We still wanted to celebrate our little one even if she doesn’t exactly remember it!  We sent out a little accordian card to our family with images of our little girl over the last year, mixed in with fun facts such as her first word to first tooth!  We saved the back for all the details and images of our now one year old!

This year instead of being in the hospital, we went on a fun family boat ride out on Sandusky Bay followed by a much needed nap time and an intimate celebration at home with cake and cookies!  A special thank you to Sweets by Ashley in Akron, OH for the beautiful (and more importantly delicious) desserts!
